Default Two items, different values?

Well, my first post is a question...

Anyways, I decided to upgrade my ranger mask, and I wanted the 70 from the collector in Amnoon Oasis. I had 2 Forgotten Seals, and I didn't want to even look at another enemy in Elonas Reach (which is the only place that I know where they drop), so I decided to see if I could find one in town. I got 3 for 300 (didn't even know the going rate, don't care if I got ripped off in this case since it's only 300).

Well I went to the collector, but he wasn't accepting my 5 seals! When I checked in the inventory, I noticed something slightly odd.

These were the two I originally had...

And these were the ones I traded for

I tried merging the two together, but they only swap places. I presume one is from an earlier patch than the other.

Now, my question is this: Do I need to go out and find 3 Forgotten Seals from this patch, or is there any way I can actually use these 5 to get my item from my collector?

Its a oooooold bug, pre-patch items sometimes dont stack with items you pickup after patch (despite being identical). Happened to me with stone summit badges. Yes you need to have a stack of 5 items.
(not sure if someone else??s "old patch" items can be merged into your "old patch pile").

yes old patch items stack together, and you need a total of 5, if you have 3 pre patch, and 2 post patch, the collecter will take them all and give you the item. the collecter doesnt care if it is in seperate piles

Well, he hasn't taken them for me... He says I need 3 more.

Does this mean I need to actually go out and find 3 more now?

very strange - I have done it in the with other patches without a problem. I guess you will either need to find 2 or 3 more (depending if you can find someone selling some to make the pre patch item up to 5, it looks like it is just reading the first pile in the bag, so if you switched them around it should read the other pile) or contact Anet and let them know of the problem, dont know how long it will take to get an answer though.

It's really, really weird. I've tried moving stuff around, and apparently, the collector only recognizes the "first" pile of Seals. If my pile of 3 Seals is in the backpack, he tells me I need 2 more seals, but when I switch that with my 2 seal pile, he tells me I need 3 more.
